Carlo Ancelotti ‘resigns himself’ to Real Madrid’s winter transfer plans
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has reluctantly accepted the fact that the club will not dip into the market for mid-season reinforcements.
That’s according to Relevo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
The subject of potential arrivals at the Santiago Bernabéu this winter has of course taken its place front and centre in the media headlines over the last couple of weeks.
This comes after the existing injury crisis in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad was added to by Éder Militão, ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with an ACL tear.
Calls, in turn, have begun to mount across the Real Madrid fanbase for Florentino Pérez to open his wallet following the turn of the year.
If the latest word doing the rounds on Monday is anything to go by, however, then no such transfer, as things stand, looks likely to be forthcoming.
As per Relevo:
‘This does not seem to alter the plans of a board that shows no predisposition to signing in January. It has not closed the door, but the options and, above all, the price to pay for them, do not appeal to the club.’
So much so that boss Ancelotti is increasingly ‘resigning himself’ to see out the remainder of the term with the personnel currently at his disposal.
