Carlo Ancelotti ‘losing support’ at Real Madrid
The place of Carlo Ancelotti on the bench at La Liga giants Real Madrid is growing increasingly under threat.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Real’s weekend drubbing at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona as having done serious damage behind the scenes in the Spanish capital.
Los Blancos, of course, are fresh off being put to the sword in nothing short of alarming fashion in the season’s first Clásico, goals on the part of all of Robert Lewandowski (2), Lamine Yamal and Raphinha having condemned them to the wrong side of a 4-0 result.
En route to as much, Carlo Ancelotti was again the target of heavy criticism on the part of the Real Madrid faithful, growing increasingly frustrated with the efforts of their side’s iconic tactician on the touchline.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then such discontent has made its way firmly into the backroom setup at the Santiago Bernabéu, too.
As per a report from Relevo, important voices in the boardroom at Real have long been left bemused by the ‘day-to-day’ running of his squad on Ancelotti’s part:
‘There are authoritative voices within Real Madrid who are very opposed to Ancelotti. They do not share his way of working with the squad on a day-to-day basis.’
Should things not turn around in short order, such individuals would be more than open to a change on the bench.
Crucially, though, for the time being at least, Ancelotti maintains the support of the most important figure of all – Florentino Pérez.
