Capitals vs. Sharks Preview: Line Combinations, Stats, Storylines To Watch

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are back in action and looking to keep their winning streak alive as they welcome Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks to town.

Here's everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena.

Washington Capitals Line Combinations

The Capitals are sticking with what worked against the Sharks, with the combinations staying the same as they were in Newark barring any changes.

Logan Thompson will get the start as the goaltending rotation continues.

- Jakob Chychrun is on a four-game point streak and has four goals and three assists over that span. He was also named the NHL's Third Star of the Week.

- Tom Wilson has five points in his last four games.

- Connor McMichael has points in back-to-back games and four points over that span.

- Pierre-Luc Dubois is coming off a convincing multi-point performance that not only saw him contribute to the scoresheet but hustle at both ends of the ice. Look for him to continue to be a key asset for D.C.

- Washington went 3-for-5 on the man advantage on Saturday as it continues to surge despite missing Alex Ovechkin. The Capitals have power-play goals in five straight games and eight of the last nine overall. Look for D.C. to try and keep the momentum going there.

- John Carlson's on a three-game point streak but has had three goals taken off the board. He's hungry to score, so watch for him.

- This is the first time Spencer Carbery and Ryan Warsofsky will face off as head coaches at the NHL level. The two have been friends for years and started their respective careers together with the Capitals' ECHL affiliate South Carolina Stingrays.
