Canucks Send Arturs Silovs To AHL; Call Up Top Prospect

The Vancouver Canucks made some roster moves as they sent Arturs Silovs to the AHL and called up top prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki.

Silovs has struggled this season, with a .808 save % and a 4.77 GAA in four appearances. The 23-year-old hasn't started a game since Oct. 30. This could be a move to get him more playing time in the AHL, as Kevin Lankinen has played well with most starts.

There hasn't been an update on Brock Boeser's injury status after he left the team's last game against the Los Angeles Kings. Throughout the league, it was thought that Lekkerimaki could fill in for Boeser, but reports surfaced that the prospect was a little hurt and didn't play for Abbotsford.

The Swede is off to a good start in his first full season of professional hockey, with five goals and seven points in seven games in the AHL.
