Canucks Ring Of Honour Member Alex Burrows To Be Inducted Into ECHL Hall Of Fame

The ECHL announced their 2025 Hall of Fame Class, which will feature Vancouver Canucks Ring of Honour Member Alex Burrows. Before his days of slaying dragons and becoming the third Sedin twin, the undrafted forward spent three seasons in the ECHL, playing for the Greenville Grrrowl, Baton Rouge Kingfish and Columbia Inferno. Over his three seasons, Burrows played 134 games, recording 47 goals and 111 points.

After a successful stint in the ECHL, Burrows signed an entry-level contract with the Canucks on November 8, 2005. He made his NHL debut on January 2, 2006, against the St. Louis Blues and scored his first career NHL goal on January 10, 2006, against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 822 games with Vancouver, Burrows scored 205 goals while recording 409 points and playing a key role in the Canucks run to the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. On December 3, 2019, Burrows was inducted into the Canucks Ring of Honour, joining iconic players such as Kirk McLean, Thomas Gradin and Pat Quinn.

Joining Burrows in the class of 2025 will be Dave Gagnon, Jamey Hicks and Glen Thornborough. The 2025 ECHL Hall of Fame ceremony will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025. The four will be formally inducted as the 17th class of the ECHL Hall of Fame at a banquet that will be held in conjunction with the 2025 Warrior/ECHL Hockey Heritage Weekend.
