All three Vancouver Canucks prospects were on the ice Thursday as they fought for a spot in the semifinals. Unfortunately, for Canucks fans, only Sweden advances, meaning Vancouver only has one prospect left in the tournament. Here's how each prospect and their team fared in the semi-finals.

Tom Willander- Team Sweden

Tom Willander and Team Sweden booked their spot in the semifinals after a tight 3-2 victory over Latvia. While Willander didn't record a point, he played a crucial role in the win, recording a team-high 24:12 of ice time. Sweden will now turn its focus to its semifinal match against Finland, which is scheduled for January 4 at 12:30 p.m. PT.

Basile Sansonnens - Team Switzerland

Basile Sansonnens tournament came to an end on Thursday when Switzerland fell 7-2 to the U.S.A. Sansonnens played 11:51 in the loss and finished with two penalty minutes. With the defeat, Switzerland finishes eighth overall at the 2025 World Juniors.

Sawyer Mynio- Team Canada

For the second straight year, Canada's tournament was ended by Czechia. As for Sawyer Mynio's performance, he recorded two shots and finished with 13:28 of ice time in the 4-3 loss. While Canada had high hopes of a medal, they failed to qualify for the semifinals and finish the 2025 World Juniors in fifth place.
