The last month has been memorable, to say the least, for Young. On October 27, he picked up his first career ECHL win with the Kalamazoo Wings, which was followed by his first career call-up to the AHL just over a week later. Young even received a temporary call-up to the NHL on November 11, spending one day on Vancouver's roster.
Young was drafted by the Canucks 144th overall in 2022. The 20-year-old goaltender played his entire WHL career with the Prince George Cougars, finishing his junior career with a 44-35-8 record. Young is the fifth Canadian to win a game for Abbotsford, joining Spencer Martin, Michael DiPietro, Zach Sawchenko, and Joe Murdaca.
As for the AHL Canucks, they are currently on a six-game road trip through the Pacific Division. Their next game is scheduled for November 22, when they take on the Henderson Silver Knights. Abbotsford's next home game is on December 7, when they battle their 2024 Calder Cup Playoff rivals, the Colorado Eagles.
