Canucks Prospect Romani Traded In The OHL
Another Vancouver Canucks prospect is on the move in the OHL as Anthony Romani was traded from the North Bay Battalion to the Barrie Colts. Romani is the third Canucks prospect to be traded in the CHL, joining Sawyer Mynio and Vilmer Alriksson. Romani was traded alongside Owen Van Steensel in exchange for Parker Vaughan, Zach Wigle and four conditional draft picks.

The 2024-25 season has not gone the way Romani had hoped, as he missed significant time with an upper-body injury. He has five points in six games, with his last game coming on October 11, 2024. The 2024 sixth-round pick has 173 points in 194 OHL games and leaves North Bay in ninth place on the franchise's all-time point list.

Romani will meet up with a familiar face in Barrie as he will now get to play beside another one of Vancouver's prospects in Riley Patterson. Patterson was also drafted by the Canucks this past year, going in the fourth round. This season, Patterson has 31 points in 34 games and sits third on the Colts in scoring.
As for Barrie as a team, they currently sit first in the Eastern Conference. Through 36 games, the Colts have a record of 24-10-1-1 and are one of four OHL teams with 50 points so far this season. Up next for Barrie will be a battle with the Owen Sound Attack on Wednesday, with their next home game scheduled for Saturday against the Kitchener Rangers.
