Pettersson has burst onto the scene during his first AHL season. The 2022 third-round pick has 12 points in 30 games and has consistently featured in Abbotsford's top four. Pettersson also sits second on the AHL Canucks in plus/minus at +5 and has been a key part of their penalty kill this season.

While Pettersson is the only player from Abbotsford attending the event, he will be attending the event with a few former Vancouver Canucks players and prospects. Ethan Bear, Zac Dalpe and Michael DiPietro have all been voted into the All-Star Classic, with all three representing the Atlantic Division. As for behind the bench, former Canucks coach Trent Cull will lead the Pacific Division and be in charge of Pettersson during his first All-Star Classic.
