Canucks Activate Pettersson From IR, Projected To Return To The Lineup Versus Hurricanes
The message heading into this game for Vancouver is simple: get shots on the net. The Canucks were shut out last night by the Carolina Hurricanes in large part to only getting 14 shots on net. If Vancouver struggles to produce offensively against the Maple Leafs, it could end in another disappointing night on this road trip.
Players to Watch:
Elias Pettersson:
After missing six games, Elias Pettersson returned to the Canucks lineup last night against Carolina. While he had moments, he finished with zero shots on goal in over 20 minutes of ice time. Pettersson will need to step up in a big way against Toronto to ensure Vancouver leaves this road trip with at least one win.
William Nylander:
A player to watch for the Maple Leafs will be Pettersson's 4 Nations Face-Off teammate, William Nylander. The Swedish winger is off to a hot start in 2024-25, as he has already surpassed the 20 goals and assist mark. It won't be easy to shut down Nylander, but it will be crucial if the Canucks want to pick up two points.
