Canucks Gameday Preview #41: A Midway Point Matchup Against The Hurricanes
The Vancouver Canucks (18-12-10) continue their five-game road trip with a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes (25-15-2). This will be the second battle between these two teams this season, with Carolina taking the first matchup 4-3 in overtime back in October. Friday's game will also mark the midway point of the Canucks season, which Vancouver will reach above NHL .500.

While the Canucks have picked up points in both of their games so far on this road trip, they need to find a way to start winning games. Vancouver is already up to ten overtime/shootout losses, which means ten additional points that have been left on the table. Despite currently being in a playoff position, the Canucks can not afford to continually fall in extra time, as it may prove costly come the end of the season.
Players to Watch:
Jake DeBrusk:
One player who needs to get going for Vancouver is Jake DeBrusk. He has one goal in his last five games and only eight shots over that span. An offensive leader on this team, DeBrusk needs to find a way to create some chances when the puck is on his stick.
Jack Roslovic:
Jack Roslovic has been a goal-scoring machine for the Hurricanes this season. He leads the team in goals with 17 and is just five away from tying his career high. If the Canucks can keep Roslovic off the scoresheet, it will go a long way in helping Vancouver escape Carolina with two points.
