Canadiens: Ready For A Fight

Not so long ago on Nov. 4, there was a guest coach at the Montreal Canadiens' practice. Marc Bureau was on hand to help the Habs' centers practice faceoffs. Today, there was another former Tricolore player on the ice, but that one had a different speciality.

RDS viewers know P.J. Stock as one of the panelist on their late night show l'Antichambre, but the Montreal native also played 235 games in the NHL as a scrappy left winger. 20 of those games were played wearing the Sainte-Flanelle. Over the course of his career, Stock only put up 26 points, but 523 penalty minutes.

Today, Stock spent some time working on fighting techniques with Arber Xhekaj, Mike Pezzetta and Jayden Struble as revealed by TSN 690's Shaun Starr:

It never hurts to be prepared but Pezzetta must be wondering when he'll get an opportunity to put his teachings to good use. The three Canadiens' players are not the only ones to get fighting lessons, last offseason, Matt Rempe got some private tutoring with another former Canadiens, Georges Laraque. Not that the New York Rangers' tough guy has had much of an opportunity to put his tips to good use, he's only played four NHL games so far this season (and 16 in the AHL).

Stock's clinic certainly looked more serious than when Brendan Prust tried to teach a few tricks to P.K. Subban 10 years ago...
