Canadiens: Lane Hutson Has Got a Fan Overseas

This morning, RG.org published an exclusive interview with Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov and there were a few interesting tidbits of information in there. Most notably, the right winger had some kind words about Lane Hutson:

I really like Lane Hutson, he is playing brilliantly.

Nobody on this side of the pond or on the other side for that matter will argue about that, the rookie defenseman has been one of the very few bright spots in an otherwise pretty dark season start for the Canadiens.

Demidov's coach with SKA St. Petersburgh wasn't has kind about the Canadiens' players. The bench boss explained how his team was responsible for making the youngster a better player but couldn't help but send a little dig Montreal's way.

Speaking to RG.org's Ivan Demidov, Roman Rotenberg said:

[...] And I can honestly tell you that not only his hard work and our good work with him in the summer helped him develop, but also his partners. I will honestly tell you that there are no partners today in Montreal as Ivan has in SKA. And this allows him to develop as a player and as a person. There are no such centers in Montreal, no such wingers now. Of course, opinions on this matter may differ. But this is my opinion.

Hopefully, this comes to Martin St-Louis' ears and while I have no doubt he would include Rotenberg in the "list of people who wouldn't ask advice from", he could still use it to motivate his troops who appear to be in dire need of a spark.

Last night, for most of the game, the Canadiens seemed to lack emotion, perhaps the words of the SKA coach effectively calling players who couldn't find a home in the NHL anymore better than them would anger them a bit?

After losing six games in a row, the Habs should be angry enough, but right now, they seem to come out flat for every game. Perhaps posting this article in the room could create a reaction? At this stage, St-Louis should be willing to try anything.
