Canadiens: Hage Back In Action Seals Michigan Win In Overtime

Last week, Montreal Canadiens prospect wasn't in uniform for his NCAA Michigan Wolverine side because of an ankle injury sustained in training. Thankfully, it wasn't a major ailment and he was able to return to action this weekend.

Michigan was playing a pair of games against the Wisconsin Badgers. Things didn't go according to plan for the Wolverines on Friday night as they lost 4-0. It was a quiet outing for the young center as he could only muster a pair of shots on net.

On Saturday night, the Wolverines took a two goal lead in the second period when Dakoda Rehaume-Mullen opened the score a little over halfway through the frame. Then, with less than 30 seconds to go, Garrett Schifsky doubled their lead, which should have been a backbreaker with so little time left before the break, but it wasn't.

Michigan played with fire, letting the Badgers claw their way back in the game. The Wisconsin outfit scored their first goal just over three minutes and a half into the game and tied the game up around six minutes later. The two teams remained tied at 2-2 until the final buzzer.

In overtime, Hage took matters into his own hands when he found himself in space he charged to the net and cut towards it before beating senior goaltender Tommy Scarfone with a perfect shot to seal the deal for Michigan.

This was Michigan's last game before the Christmas break and they'll return to action on Jan. 3 when they take on Ohio State. In 15 games this season, Hage has put up 18 points.
