Cameroon international midfielder Meyong joins London City Lionesses
Cameroon international midfielder Charlène Meyong has joined London City Lionesses on a two-year deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.
Meyong joins London City Lionesses off the back of a spell playing in the French Arkema Première Ligue with Stade de Reims. The 25-year-old has also played for Cameroonian club Louves Minproff and Chinese side Meizhou Hakka in her senior career to date.
On the international stage, Meyong has been capped by Cameroon on 22 occasions in which she has scored one goal.
After joining London City Lionesses, Meyong said “I decided to join London City because the project the coach proposed to me is interesting, especially the task before us this season.
“I also wanted a new challenge and I am excited to play in England. I like challenges, competition, hard work, and – above all else – respect.
“Victories are very important to me. I will always [look to] adapt to the coach’s system. If he asks me to attack, I will attack. If he asks me to defend, I will defend. I prefer to do whatever is best for the team.”
Moyong is London City Lionesses’ fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
