Who they're for: Golfers looking to make fairway woods their new best friends. If you struggle to hit solid shots off the turf or suffer from thin hits that barely get airborne, these clubs are designed with you in mind.
What you should know: Callaway took a hard look at fairway wood performance and decided to make some serious upgrades. The Elyte fairway woods feature a redesigned face, an internal tungsten weight for added stability and a fresh sole design to help you hit more solid shots. Think of it as a confidence boost in your bag – especially if you hope to get the ball up and flying more reliably.
The deep dive: We’ve all watched pros make hitting fairway woods look easy, but for most of us, these clubs can be intimidating. They often produce frustrating thin shots that skim along the fairway. With the Elyte fairway woods, Callaway focused on fixing the two main pain points for everyday golfers: consistency and turf interaction.
To tackle these issue, Callaway engineers started with an internal 35-gram tungsten bar that sits just behind the face, a feature they call a “Tungsten Speed Wave.” This internal weight runs from toe to heel, lowering the center of gravity and adding mass where it counts – right behind the ball. That means better ball speed and distance, even if you catch the ball a little low on the face.
Callaway also employed artificial intelligence to craft an all-new face, fine-tuning it to flex efficiently across a larger hitting area. With 10 times more control points, the AI10X Face promises more consistent speed across the clubface, so even off-center hits have a better chance of flying like they’re supposed to.
Then there’s the new Step Sole design. This feature elevates the back half of the sole, meaning less of the club actually touches the turf. In Callaway’s tests, this improved turf interaction and reduced thin strikes by 25 percent, so you’re more likely to get that higher, straighter flight that sticks on the green.
Models at a Glance
Elyte (3-wood, 3HL, 5-wood, 7-wood, Heavenwood, 9-wood, 11-wood): The all-around option, this version is neutral in shot bias, so it won’t push you into a slice or a draw. Think of it as the “people’s fairway wood" – fast, forgiving and aimed at a wide range of players looking for consistent distance.
Elyte X (3-wood, 3HL, 5-wood, 7-wood): The Elyte X is all about forgiveness and stability, with a shot bias favoring the draw. Ideal if you’re one of those golfers who cringes at the sight of a slice. With a design that boosts the moment of inertia, it’s also a great option for a little extra stability off the tee.
Elyte Max Fast (3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood, 9-wood): This is the ultralight option of the group with a lighter shaft, grip and carbon fiber sole to help boost clubhead speed for players with moderate-speed or slower swings. It has the largest draw bias, perfect for anyone who wants a little extra help avoiding the right side of the course.
Elyte Triple Diamond (3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood): Built for the big hitters, this low-spin option is designed for golfers with powerful swings that tend to create too much spin. The Triple Diamond has the lowest launch and spin profile in the lineup, making it an excellent choice for players looking to bring down their ball flight.
Elyte Ti (3-wood, 3HL, 5-wood): With a titanium face and chassis, the Elyte Ti is the premium player here, equipped with two movable sole weights for ultimate customization. Fitters and players can dial in launch angle and spin rate, making it a versatile option for those who like to fine-tune their gear.
