Calgary Wranglers Alex Gallant Suspended Six Games
Calgary Wranglers forward Alex Gallant has been suspended for six games, the AHL's Player Safety Committee announced Friday.
Gallant was dealt the suspension after leaving the bench to start an altercation during the Wranglers game on Jan. 15. His suspension will start when the Wranglers face the San Diego Gulls Saturday and ends on Jan. 31 when the Wranglers face off against Abbotsford.
A product of Summerside, P.E.I., Gallant is in his third season with the Wranglers where he has collected an assist and 43 penalty minutes in 19 games. Since turning pro in 2013, Gallant has played in the SPHL, ECHL and AHL. Across 365 career AHL regular season games, Gallant has 34 points and 1083 penalty minutes.
With Gallant's lengthy suspension, he will be missing almost two weeks of action. Known for his physical play, Gallant has found a home with Calgary and can be relied upon in a depth role when called upon.
