The Caleb Williams-Rome Odunze connection already has NFL fans buzzing

Chicago Bears rookies Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze stole the show in Saturday's 27-3 preseason win against the Cincinnati Bengals, and for good reason. The top-10 picks connected for the first time on an NFL field, and it provided a glimpse of an exciting future.

While the offense got off to a slow start, with three straight three-and-outs, Williams and Odunze put on a show for the home crowd on the final drive of the first half. Facing second-and-10 from Chicago's 48, Williams rolled left and threw a dart for a 45-yard completion to Odunze to set up Chicago's first touchdown (a seven-yard scramble by Williams).

"It's pretty unreal, honestly," Odunze said of the throw, via Kevin Fishbain. "I just watched it back. He's throwing off one leg, putting it on my outside shoulder. It's like ... ooh, it's magical what he's doing back there in the backfield. He's special."

And it's safe to say the rest of the NFL world feels the same. Even after a preseason game. NFL fans, especially the Bears contingent, were loving what they saw from Williams and Odunze, who could be a potent duo in this league for years to come. Here are reactions from X (formerly Twitter):
