Caleb Williams injury vs Cardinals: Latest news on Bears QB
Things may have gone from bad to worse for the Chicago Bears after their 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Following the game, head coach Matt Eberflus told the media that quarterback Caleb Williams "tweaked" his ankle late in the game. Williams went to the ground late in the fourth quarter and got rolled up on before walking gingerly to the sideline as the clock ticked down to zero. "He limped off there a little bit. He came in; he looks to be fine," Eberflus said via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Matt Eberflus said he takes “full responsibility” for what’s going on with the offense right now.
On a separate note, Eberflus said that he saw Caleb Williams tweak his ankle on the Bears final drive.— Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) November 4, 2024
Williams confirmed the injury to his ankle but told reporters he's okay. The rookie quarterback had a rough time in the pocket, completing 22 of 41 passes for 217 yards and getting sacked six times. Williams was battered and bruised, and his status will be updated later in the week. The Bears (4-4) try and stop their losing streak next week against the New England Patriots.
