Caleb Williams on what he's looking for in Bears' next head coach

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a crucial search for their next head coach, one that will determine the outlook of this team for the foreseeable future.

The Bears have said they're looking for a "leader of men," but there have also been players sounding off about what the team should be looking for in their next coach. Receiver DJ Moore and cornerback Jaylon Johnson believe it would be beneficial to have an offensive-minded head coach given quarterback Caleb Williams' development.

For Williams, he's looking for someone who's going to get this team on the right track that will lead to wins.

"A coach that challenges myself, but also challenges us as players," Williams said. "Whether it’s on the field, with character, doesn’t matter. Just a coach that challenges us. A man of his word. A disciplined coach. ... A guy that wants to win."

Johnson believes that Williams should be involved in the hiring process to help find someone who can work with him, providing input on candidates, to help find the best match. And you have to believe Williams will be at the forefront of these coaching interviews.

There are several names that have already been connected to the vacancy, including Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who has been effusive in his praise of Williams. It seems like the perfect fit to maximize Williams' potential and unlock this offense. But can he command a room and an entire team? It's something the Bears will consider during the interview process.

Other names floating around include former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores and former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, where there's a mutual interest between the Bears and Carroll.
