Cagliari Coach Humble After 0-3 Serie A Loss: ‘Inter Milan Were Stronger Than Us, We Accept It’

Cagliari coach Davide Nicola admits that Inter Milan were “stronger” than his team in today’s 0-3 Serie A loss.

Nicola spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, at the end of the match.

Inter got a big three points in Serie A against Cagliari this evening.

The Nerazzurri kept up in the title race with yet another victory in the league.

For Cagliari, on the other hand, it was the fourth straight loss in Serie A, and the fifth in all competitions.

This is bitterly disappointing for the Rossoblu, who find themselves mired in the relegation zone.

And it is all the more so because, in recent weeks, Cagliari’s performances would suggest that they should have more points than they do in the table.

The Rossoblu created the chances to take a result from matches against the likes of Fiorentina and Atalanta.

Against Inter this evening, however, it was a fairly emphatic win in the end. The Nerazzurri were not bad value for their three-goal margin of victory on the basis of the second half in particular.

Cagliari Coach Davide Nicola Admits: “Inter Were Stronger Than Us, We Accept It”

After the match, Cagliari coach Nicola commented that “In the first half we gave everything, and showed a lot of organization.”

“After we conceded the second goal, it became a lot more difficult,” he admitted.

“Inter are a strong team in a lot of situations.”

Nicola said that “For my team, this is the best we can do, against an opponent who were stronger than us.”

“We accept it,” said the Rossoblu coach.

Of his team’s place in the relegation dogfight, Nicola said that “It’s not an easy league.”

“And it doesn’t end today,” the Cagliari coach made clear.

“It’s a league where we can cause problems for anyone. Today the team showed the right attitude and organization, but we weren’t able to cause that many problems for Inter.”
