C.J. Stroud makes Houston Texans history with two PFWA All-Rookie awards
The Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) has released its annual All-Rookie team for the 2023 NFL season and, for just the second time since issuing Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards in 1992, the same team swept both awards outright.
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud earned PFWA's Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year awards for the 2023 NFL season. Houston defensive end Will Anderson Jr. earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors as well.

The last time one team had players win both awards was last season. New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner won PFWA Defensive Rookie of the Year and Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. After 30 years without an outright sweep of both awards, the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons have seen sweeps for PFWA's Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards.
Stroud becomes the first Houston Texans player to win PFWA Rookie of the Year and PFWA Offensive Rookie of the Year. Anderson Jr.'s the fourth Texans player to win Defensive Rookie of the Year and the first since linebacker Brian Cushing in 2009.
