Burrow, Goff lead Miami Herald NFL QB Top 20, two others in hunt for season crown with two weeks left

DETROIT’S GOFF WINS AGAIN FOR WEEK 16 TITLE, NOW IN NEAR-DEAD HEAT WITH CINCY’ BURROW FOR SEASON LEAD WITH 2 WEEKS TO GO IN MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: The Lions’ Jared Goff wins the Week 16 title, his second straight and season-high fourth of the year, in the Miami Herald’s latest NFL Quarterback Rankings. His 44.80-point game marks the third-lowest winning total of the season, but draws him within six points of the season lead held by the Bengals’ Joe Burrow with two weeks to go. Both seek their first season championship. Goff finished second last year and Burrow third in 2022. Burrow or Goff are solid favorites to win it all, although we project third and fourth place Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson to still be in the realitsic hunt. The Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa rises three spots to 11th overall. The Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings are in their 27th season after starting in 1998 with Steve Young the inaugural season winner. Our cumulative system rewards players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. Because the rankings are cumulative (not percentile based), players on a bye week took a temporary hit that evened out over the course of a season.
