Burns Joins Goal-Scoring Parade Among St. Louis Blues Prospects

Perhaps Quinton Burns has seen all the clippings and highlights of his fellow St. Louis Blues prospects and wanted to see more than assists and PIMs next to his name.

The defenseman, a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft named captain of Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League for this season, had 16 assists through 26 games, 40 penalty minutes and he was a plus-17, which are solid numbers alone.

But this past week, Burns tossed his hat into the scoring ring.

He scored his first three goals and added two assists, including a two-goal, two-assist game for the Frontenacs on Sunday in a 6-2 win against Jordan Kyrou's alma mater, Sarnia.

Not only did Burns jump into the offensive foray for Kingston, he was a plus-8 in three games with 11 shots on goal and 11 penalty minutes.

Burns (6-foot-2, 199 pounds) doesn't want the Blues to forget what he is about, and that's being hard to play against, checking and dropping the gloves when needed, but it's good for the Blues to also know he can contribute offensively.

The 19-year-old may have had some motivation when Canada did not invite him to their 2025 World Junior Championship selection camp. His first goal on Sunday started a five-goal onslaught in the third period:

His long distance range shot in this clip made it 5-1:

Burns now has 21 points (three goals, 18 assists) in 29 games with 51 penalty minutes and he's third in the OHL with a plus-25; he's on pace for 49 points, which would be a career-high and an astounding plus-59.

* Juraj Pekarcik -- Moncton keeps piling up the wins, and Pekarcik, a 2023 third-round puck, continues to pad his stats.

The Wildcats went 2-1-0 this week, and in duplicate 3-2 wins over Halifax and Saint John, Pekarcik had a goal and an assist in each game to give him 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) in 27 games.

Against Halifax, Pekarcik opened the scoring on Thursday:

And on Sunday against Saint John, he would also open the scoring and set up the tying goal in the third period:

* Dalibor Dvorsky -- You already saw the beauty the 10th pick in the 2023 draft scored in overtime on Saturday for Springfield in a 2-1 win against Rockford, but in case you need to see it again, have at it, and hear the great call from Ryan Smith:

And with that goal, Dvorsky, who leads the Thunderbirds in goals (10) and points (18) through 22 games, has himself a seven-game point streak (four goals, three assists).

In his last 15 games, Dvorsky has 14 points (eight goals, six assists) and continues to get quite acclimated to the American Hockey League.

* In conclusion, here are some of top goals of the week -- along with Dvorsky's Saturday -- from Blues prospects.

Jimmy Snuggerud, 2022 first round pick, Friday in a 6-0 win over Michigan:

Tomas Mrsic, 2024 fourth round pick, Tuesday in a 3-2 loss against Red Deer:

Antoine Dorion, 2024 seventh round, Dec. 1 in a 6-2 win over Chicoutimi:
