Burns joins Galway United after leaving Glentoran

Midfielder Bobby Burns has joined Galway United in the League of Ireland after leaving Irish Premiership side Glentoran.

The former Northern Ireland underage international, 24, moves to Galway after four years at the Oval.

After breaking through at Glenavon, Burns moved to Hearts in Scotland as a teenager before loan spells Livingston and Australian side Newcastle Jets.

A brief spell at Barrow followed before Burns returned to the Irish Premiership with Glentoran in 2020.

Former Derry City striker Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe is also set to move from Glentoran to Galway in the summer transfer window.

On Sunday, Glentoran announced the signing of former Marseille youth player Wassim Aouachria from Glaway.

Declan Devine's side have also signed former Hungarian Under-21 goalkeeper Daniel Gyollai ahead of the new season.

Galway are an impressive fifth in the League of Ireland Premier Division after being promoted in 2023.
