Buffalo Bills win over Jacksonville Jaguars music to the ears of most Proline players
The Buffalo Bills were good to many Proline bettors Monday night.
Buffalo earned its third straight victory, downing the Jacksonville Jaguars 47-10. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., 79 per cent of Proline players took the Bills to win while 68 per cent had them minus-6.5 on the point spread.
Another 64 per cent took the game to go over 46.5 total points.
Buffalo running back James Cook was the most popular bet for first and anytime touchdown scorer. He ran for the game's first TD in the first quarter.
Also on Monday night, Washington got past Cincinnati 38-33, a game that saw neither team punt or turn the ball over. Only 14 per cent of Proline bettors had the Commanders beating the Bengals and just 33 per cent correctly picked Washington plus-7.5 on the point spread.
More (45 per cent) correctly picked the game to go over 46.5 total points. Bengals receiver Jamar Chase was the most popular bet for first and anytime touchdown scorer, doing so with a 41-yard TD grab in the first.
On Sunday, Denver upset Tampa Bay 26-7. Just nine per cent of bettors took the Broncos to win while only 14 per cent backed them at plus-5.5.
Meanwhile Carolina, with veteran Andy Dalton under centre, stunned Las Vegas 36-22 as only 11 per cent of players backed the Panthers.
And just 13 per cent were behind the New York Giants' 21-15 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Only 23 per cent correctly had the Los Angeles Rams downing the San Francisco 49ers 27-24.
The Kansas City Chiefs earned a 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. Seventy-three per cent of players backed the defending Super Bowl champions while 74 per cent took them minus-4.5.
The NHL pre-season schedule has begun, prompting the release of early futures picks. The Edmonton Oilers are the top outright Stanley Cup selection, followed by defending-champion Florida and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Edmonton is also the Presidents Trophy favourite, ahead of Toronto and Vancouver.
Oilers teammates Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are 1-2, respectively, for the Hart Trophy as league MVP ahead of Toronto's Auston Matthews. Draisaitl is also tops for the Rocket Richard Trophy (most regular-season goals) with Matthews and Florida's Sam Reinhart second and third, respectively.
New Jersey's Sheldon Keefe is the early favourite for the Jack Adams Trophy as top coach. Keefe is in his first season with the Devils after being fired by Toronto.
Montreal's Martin St. Louis and Patrick Roy of the New York Islanders are the other early picks.
A Proline retail bettor won $16,200 from a $20 bet on a three-leg English Premier League soccer parlay, while another earned $12,937 from a $5 wager on a three-leg German soccer parlay. And a third made $966 after putting $1 down on a two-leg EPL parlay with correct first-half scores on Brighton-Nottingham and Manchester City-Arsenal.
A digital player won $3,246.98 after putting $6 down on an 11-leg mixed parlay while a second earned $765.77 from a $1 wager on a six-leg EPL parlay.
