Would Bryson DeChambeau play in the TGL? Here's what the LIV Golf star had to say
Bryson DeChambeau is playing in the Asian Tour’s International Series event at DLF Golf Club in India this week before LIV Golf's season kicks off in seven days under the lights in Saudi Arabia. He sits at 2 under with two holes to play in his opening round — he's T-4 on the leaderboard alongside fellow LIV member Joaquin Niemann — DeChambeau was asked about joining TGL.
“That would be interesting,” he told bunkered.co. “I think TGL has an interesting opportunity. I’m all about anything to grow the game, so if it’s helping grow the game, fantastic. I don’t know all the numbers behind it.
“Would it be fun? Yeah, it could be fun. I don’t know if they’d pick me though, I have no idea. I’ve got a (LIV) team over here, the Crushers GC, come on. The Crushers would be a part of that!”
As of now, all six TGL teams are made up exclusively of PGA Tour stars, and it's impossible to know whether LIV members will be involved at any point. (Maybe if the deal between the Tour and Saudi Arabia's PIF ever comes to fruition, it'll become a possibility.)
What we do know is the viewership numbers for the first four TGL matches have been encouraging, to say the least, and adding a name like DeChambeau would only help the cause.
