The Boston Bruins are one of the most active teams in the trade market right now. It is easy to understand why, as they have been performing below expectations and struggling in just about every way.

In a recent article for Responsible Gambler, Jimmy Murphy shared that an NHL source told him the Bruins have had talks with the Utah Hockey Club and Anaheim Ducks.
Utah has been off to a rocky start in 2024-25, as they have a 7-7-3 record. They have also been trending in the wrong direction, winning just three out of their last 10 games.
Utah is likely still aiming to earn a playoff spot, so they may not be too eager to trade away pieces just yet. However, if they continue to struggle and end up selling, Nick Schmaltz and Lawson Crouse could be interesting targets to consider pursuing. They also have pending unrestricted free agents (UFA) like Nick Bjugstad, Alex Kerfoot, and Michael Carcone.
As for Anaheim, Trevor Zegras stands out as a prime potential target for Boston. He has been dominating the rumor mill, and his future in Anaheim looks very murky, which Murphy also discussed. However, former Bruin Frank Vatrano is a pending UFA who could be an intriguing target for Boston. He has seven points in 15 games this season but also set career highs with 37 goals, 23 assists, and 60 points last season.
