Bruins Need To Make A Trade Right Now
The Boston Bruins have won two out of their first three games since Joe Sacco took over as head coach. While this is the case, it is clear that the Bruins still have significant problems they need to fix if they hope to turn their season around.

The biggest indicator that the Bruins still have issues after firing Jim Montgomery is that they have scored only three goals in their three games since Sacco has taken over. Furthermore, in their last game against the Vancouver Canucks, the Bruins had far more offensive control, but Kevin Lankinen stopped all 32 of their shots. To add insult to injury, former Bruin Jake DeBrusk scored the game-winning goal.
With the Bruins' offense continuing to struggle so significantly, it is absolutely clear that they need to trade for a scorer as soon as possible. At this juncture, only David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand are on pace to hit the 20-goal mark this season. That is certainly concerning for a team that viewed themselves as a playoff-caliber club before the start of the campaign.
At this point of the season, the Bruins have scored the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference, with only 51 in 23 games. Only the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks have fewer goals than the Bruins this season, with 50 each.
With all of this, the time is now for the Bruins to make a move for a scoring winger in their top six. A shakeup is needed, and it will be fascinating to see what GM Don Sweeney does from here.
