Yahoo Sports Bruins Need Top Trade Candidate To Break The Ice
The 2024-25 season has not been kind to Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic. The 2016 first-round pick's offense has disappeared, as he has just five goals and six assists in 40 games. He also has a team-worst minus-12 rating.

Frederic's struggles have also been getting worse as the season has progressed. The 2016 first-round pick has not recorded a point since Dec. 7, when he scored two goals against the Philadelphia Flyers. Thus, he has not recorded a point in 11 straight contests.
Frederic is currently the Bruins' top trade candidate, as he has generated interest and is a pending unrestricted free agent. With Frederic being so ice-cold, The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa recently reported that the gritty forward's trade value is dropping. This is not ideal for the Bruins if they genuinely want to move him.

However, looking at Frederic's stats from last season, there is reason to believe that he has the potential to turn things around. In 82 games during the 2023-24 season, he set career highs with 18 goals, 22 assists, and 40 points. This was after he had 17 goals and 31 points in 79 games the previous season.
It will be interesting to see if Frederic will turn things around from here. Fellow Bruins forward Morgan Geekie also had a tough start to the season, but he has since heated back up. Perhaps Frederic will be next.
