Bruins Top Prospect Has Another Monster Game

Last week, we here at The Hockey News Boston discussed Matthew Poitras' hot stretch of play with the Providence Bruins. Since then, he has only been playing better.

On Dec. 8, against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Poitras once again had a big game, scoring a goal and adding an assist. This was after Poitras scored a goal against the Bridgeport Islanders on Dec. 7.

With this big night against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Poitras now has had two points in three out of his last four games with Providence. Over that span, the promising youngster has three goals and seven points.

After a slow start with Providence following his demotion, Poitras has not only shaken off the rust but is thriving. He now has three goals, 10 points, and a plus-5 rating in 11 contests. If he keeps this kind of play up, it would be shocking if he does not get another chance with the Boston Bruins' roster soon.
