Johnson spent this past season with the Chicago Blackhawks, posting 17 goals and 31 points in 67 games.
With the Bruins arguably needing another skilled forward in their top nine, there is no harm in them taking a shot on Johnson with this PTO. If he impresses at training camp and earns a PTO, he would provide them with another solid forward with experience for the upcoming season.
