Bruins Need To See More From Top Prospect
Boston Bruins top prospect Fabian Lysell was among the many players fighting for an NHL spot at training camp. In the end, the Bruins opted to go in a different direction with their roster and sent Lysell down to the American Hockey League (AHL) before the start of the campaign.

While Lysell is starting the season with the Providence Bruins, the prospect of him receiving a call-up during the campaign is undoubtedly there. This is especially so with the Bruins having a clear issue at the right wing position. However, he will need to do more with Providence if he hopes to get into his first regular-season action with Boston soon.
Lysell, 21, has started his 2024-25 season with Providence quietly, posting zero points and a minus-2 rating in his first two games. With Lysell being primarily known for his offensive game, starting the season without any points is certainly less than ideal.
However, there is no question that Lysell has the potential to bounce back and make a significant impact in the AHL. During this past season with Providence, he set new career highs with 15 goals, 35 assists, and 50 points in 55 games.
Nevertheless, seeing how Lysell responds from his quiet start to the campaign will be interesting. If he heats up and improves his all-around play, it would greatly help his case of getting recalled by Boston.
