The Boston Bruins picked up a hard-fought 2-0 win over the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 23. This win was massive for the Original Six club, as they jumped from sixth to third in the Atlantic Division standings.

Bruins forward Morgan Geekie played a significant role in the win, as the 26-year-old forward scored the team's game-winning goal. It was a beauty, too, as he one-timed a perfect feed from David Pastrnak for the goal.

With this, Geekie now has four goals and six points over his last six contests. He also 18 points in his previous 24 contests, so he has undoubtedly been making a major impact for the Bruins.

It is excellent to see Geekie produce at such a high pace, especially considering that he had just four points in his first 18 games. The 2017 third-round pick has certainly bounced back from his rough start and has created strong chemistry with Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha.

This season, Geekie was expected to hit another level, and he is starting to do so. In 45 games, he now has 13 goals and 24 points, which puts him on pace to beat his career high of 17 goals and 39 points set last season.

It will be fascinating to see how Geekie builds on his hot play from here, but right now, he has been one of Boston's best forwards.
