Yahoo Sports Bruins Get New Promising Jeremy Swayman Update
Boston Bruins star goalie Jeremy Swayman remains without a contract, with training camp right around the corner. This has naturally caused plenty of concern among Bruins fans, and it will only remain so until a new deal is finalized.

Multiple reports have shown that the Bruins and Swayman are far apart in negotiations. However, while the Bruins and Swayman have more work to do to complete this new contract, it appears that things may not be as bad as they might seem.
While on TSN1050’s “First Up," NHL insider Darren Dreger provided a position update regarding the negotiations between Swayman and the Bruins.
Here is what Dreger said on the matter: "I think they’re going to get something done. I’m not saying it’s imminent, but I do think the negotiations are probably closer than what we’re reading about."

During a recent episode of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, Ryan Whitney reported that the Bruins have offered Swayman a four-year, $24.8 million ($6.2 million) contract, which Elliotte Friedman also discussed. Per NHL insider Frank Seravalli, Swayman's asking price earlier this offseason was in the $8.5 million range.
With the regular season rapidly approaching, it is good to hear that an insider like Dreger believes the Bruins and Swayman are closer to a deal than expected. Getting the Anchorage, Alaska native signed before the start of the season is essential for the Bruins. This is especially true when remembering that they traded 2023 Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators this summer.
Here's to hoping this new deal with Swayman comes to fruition quickly.
