Bruins Must Step Up In Massive Game

The Boston Bruins played one of their worst games of the season on Jan. 22 against the New Jersey Devils. They were completely outmatched by the Devils and lost by a 5-1 final score. With this, the Bruins now have a 23-20-6 record.

The Bruins are right back on the ice on Jan. 23 against the Ottawa Senators. This is a massive game for the Bruins, as they are currently tied in points with the Senators. A win would allow the Bruins to pass them in the Atlantic Division standings.

However, if the Bruins lose in any fashion, they will be behind the Senators. This would be very rough for the Bruins, as the Senators already have two games in hand.

The Bruins also squandered a chance to gain some breathing room the last time they played the Senators on Jan. 18. After having a 5-3 lead in the third period, the Bruins surrendered two late goals, including one by Senators forward Josh Norris with 12 seconds left. From there, the Bruins lost in the shootout.

The Bruins will now look to redeem themselves and pick up two much-needed points against the Senators from here.
