While Ullmark has been excellent for the Senators, this trade has also benefitted the Bruins. One of the pieces the Bruins got back from the trade was forward Mark Kastelic, and he has made an immediate impact with the Original Six club.
Kastelic has been an excellent addition to the Bruins' bottom six this season. In 41 games, he has four goals and has already set new career highs with eight assists and 12 points. In addition to hitting a new level offensively, Kastelic has also made the Bruins far more challenging to go up against, as his 76 penalty minutes and 158 hits show.
Due to his outstanding play, the Bruins worked quickly to sign him to a three-year contract extension earlier this month. He has undoubtedly cemented himself as an important player on the Bruins, and at just 25 years old, he still has time to improve even more.
