Bruins & Jeremy Swayman Negotiations Have New Big Obstacle
The Boston Bruins' season opener against the Florida Panthers is in just five days. While the regular-season is rapidly approaching, the Bruins still do not have their star goalie Jeremy Swayman signed. They are not close to changing that, either.

However, according to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, it is now more than just a money issue between the Bruins and Swayman.
Here is what LeBrun said on the matter while speaking with Jay Onrait on TSN's SportsCentre:
"Separate for a moment the financial resolution that needs to happen. At some point, they'll find the number, I think. But Jeremy Swayman, I think, is probably a little hurt right now. And the reparation of that relationship is now part of this thing as well. Not just the actual contract negotiations."
However, LeBrun also made it clear that he still expects a deal to come to fruition between Swayman and the Bruins:
"I think it gets done eventually, believe it or not, despite all the drama of this week, but how the player feels about things will be interesting."

On Monday (Sept. 30), Bruins president Cam Neely implied that the Original Six club had a $64 million offer on the table for Swayman while speaking to reporters. Swayman's agent, Lewis Gross, later sent out a statement denying that the Bruins had ever made an offer that high. In addition, Gross noted that he and Swayman were "extremely disappointed" and that they would "discuss where we go from here."
There is no question that this situation got uglier this week. It will be interesting to see if both parties can find a resolution soon and get a contract done.
