Bruins Interesting Prospect Impressing Big Time

The Boston Bruins played their first preseason game of the year on Sunday (Sept. 22) against the New York Rangers. However, they did not get the result they had hoped for, falling to the Rangers by a 3-2 final score.

Although the Bruins lost their first preseason contest, a few players performed well and stood out. Bruins prospect Trevor Kuntar was among them, as the 23-year-old put together a solid game for the Original Six club.

During the second half of the second period, Kuntar scored and tied the game up at 2-2. The 2020 third-round pick showed great determination on the play, as he worked hard in front of the net before retrieving the puck after a deflection and tapping it home.

This is precisely the kind of play the Bruins want to see from a prospect like Kuntar. He has developed a reputation for his net-front presence ability, high work ethic, and tenacity. He showed it off in this matchup against the Rangers and will now look to build off it from here.

Kuntar is one of several Bruins prospects looking to make the jump to the NHL this season. If he continues to play well this training camp, don't be surprised if he at least receives his first NHL call-up during the regular season.

Kuntar appeared in 70 games last season for the Providence Bruins, recording 10 goals, 20 points, and 113 penalty minutes.
