On Jan. 23, Boston recalled goalie Michael DiPietro from their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins. This indicated that Swayman would be forced to miss time, and Sacco gave a new injury update about No. 1 before their contest against the Ottawa Senators.
"Sway's dealing with a little bit of an upper-body issue, minor," Sacco said. "He came out after the second period last night, so with the quick turnaround here, obviously last night and tonight, we're going to hold him out here tonight, and we'll just monitor day-by-day."
Sacco also shared that Swayman's injury happened during the club's game against New Jersey and was not a lingering issue.
"It's not something he's been dealing with," Sacco said. "It just came last night."
Pregame updates per Coach Sacco:

Sacco also said that he is "cautiously optimistic" that Swayman could be good to go for the Bruins' Jan. 25 matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.
Based on Sacco's comments, it seems that Swayman's injury is not too serious. It will be fascinating to see how quickly he recovers from it. In 35 games this season, Swayman has a 15-16-4 record, a .896 save percentage, and a 3.00 goals-against average.
