Bruins Have Great Trade Target From Flyers

At this point in the season, the Boston Bruins have a 20-15-4 record and are third in the Atlantic Division. After a shaky start, they have gotten things back on track under new interim head coach Joe Sacco.

Given the fact that the Bruins currently hold a playoff spot, it is very likely that they will look to add to their roster. This is especially so when noting that they need more impactful forwards.

When looking at possible trade candidates around the league, Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton stands out.

Laughton, 30, would provide a nice boost to the Bruins' middle six if acquired. This is because he contributes offensively, plays an intelligent game defensively, and provides plenty of sandpaper. Thus, he could be a big-time addition for a Bruins club looking to go on a run this post-season.

Laughton is having a solid season for the Flyers, posting eight goals, 21 points, and 83 hits. This is after he had 13 goals and 39 points in 82 games this past season. He has also been red-hot as of late, posting five points in his last four games and five goals and 10 points over his previous nine.

Another appealing factor about Laughton is that he carries an affordable $3 million cap hit until the end of next season. Thus, he would be more than a rental if acquired by the Bruins.
