Lettieri has played excellently in the AHL with Providence this season, posting 14 goals and 35 points in 35 games. He has been the AHL squad's top offensive player this campaign and is also making an impact during his recall with Boston.
On Jan. 18 against the Ottawa Senators, Lettieri scored his first goal as a Bruin. He then followed that up by scoring once again in the Bruins' last contest against the San Jose Sharks on Jan. 20. With this, the Excelsior, Minnesota native has two goals and a plus-1 rating in three games with Boston.
With the Bruins needing more secondary scoring, it is undoubtedly nice to see a player from the AHL immediately giving them that. Keeping this play up will help his chances of sticking around on the NHL roster once the Bruins get healthier.
Lettieri has also been providing the Bruins with more of a physical presence as well. In three games, he already has 10 hits. He also notably had an impressive eight hits against the Sharks last game.
Nevertheless, Lettieri has been a nice surprise early on for the Bruins. Let's see if he can stay hot from here.
