Bruins Defenseman Whiffs on Hit Against Kent Johnson

Last night, during the game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins, Charlie McAvoy experienced what might be the most embarrassing moment of the season.

In an attempt to deliver a big hit on Kent Johnson, McAvoy skated at full speed toward him. What he didn’t anticipate was Johnson spinning out of the way. By that point, McAvoy had already committed to the hit, leaving no chance to recover.

Due to Johnson's spin, McAvoy went crashing into the boards. This capped off an already terrible night for the Bruins and is sure to have NHL fans laughing about it for a while.

The result was hilarious; thankfully, McAvoy wasn't injured, though his pride might have taken a hit. This is one of those embarrassing moments likely to be replayed on SportsCenter's Top 10 for years to come.
