New Bruins Defender Has Been Nice Story
During the 2024 NHL off-season, the Boston Bruins quietly signed defenseman Jordan Oesterle to a two-year, $1.55 million contract. With this move, the Bruins added a depth defender with NHL experience to their organization, which is never a bad thing.

As expected, Oesterle started the season down in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Providence Bruins. In nine games with the AHL squad this season, he has three goals and eight points.
However, due to Hampus Lindholm's long-term injury, Oesterle was recalled to the NHL roster on Nov. 13. Since then, he has taken advantage of his opportunity with the Bruins roster and has been a nice story.
Since his call-up, Oesterle has offered great versatility, as he has been on multiple pairings. This includes spending a good amount of time with Charlie McAvoy on the top pairing, and he has been dependable defensively. Bruins coach Joe Sacco even went out of his way to praise Oesterle's steadiness before the club's recent contest against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Oesterle has appeared in seven games with Boston since his call-up, where he has three assists and a plus-1 rating.
