The Boston Bruins have made a roster move, placing defenseman Ian Mitchell on waivers.

Mitchell, 25, appeared in 13 games for the Bruins last season, recording two assists, 10 penalty minutes, and a plus-6 rating. He also had six goals, 24 points, and a plus-10 rating in 42 games down in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Providence Bruins.
With the Bruins having multiple defensemen ahead of Mitchell on the depth chart, it is not particularly surprising to see him back on waivers. It will be interesting to see if another club takes a chance on him from here.
