It was a big night for Bruins defenseman Andrew Peeke, as the 6-foot-3 blueliner was solid in all areas of the ice. With Charlie McAvoy out, the Bruins needed defenders like Peeke to step up, and he did just that.

Peeke recorded an assist on David Pastrnak's second-period goal, giving Boston a 4-0 lead. In addition, he notably scored the Bruins' first third-period empty-net goal that gave the Bruins a 5-2 lead. He also ended the contest with a strong plus-4 rating.

Peeke's empty-net shorthanded goal was notable, as it was his first goal as a Bruin. It took the Parkland, Florida native 55 games to get his first with the Original Six club, but it was undoubtedly worth the wait. This is especially so when noting that he scored from the Bruins' end of the ice.

Peeke is a stay-at-home defenseman not known for his offense, but he has been providing more of it lately. After this strong performance, he has four points over his last five games.
