The Bruins could use more offense right now, and the waiver wire currently offers an intriguing option worth considering in Seattle Kraken forward Daniel Sprong.
Sprong, 27, has had a tough season, posting two goals and five points in 19 games, split between the Vancouver Canucks and Kraken. While this is the case, he displayed in past seasons that he can be an offensive force in a bottom-six role.
During the 2022-23 season with Seattle, he had 21 goals, 46 points, and a plus-13 rating in 66 games. He also had a solid season, primarily in a bottom-six role with the Detroit Red Wings in 2023-24, posting 18 goals and 43 points in 76 games. With numbers like these, he could provide a much-needed boost to the Bruins' third line and power play if claimed.
Sprong also has a good contract, as he has an affordable $975,000 cap hit until the end of the season. Thus, he could be an excellent low-risk, high-reward winger for the Bruins to take a chance on. Let's see if they do just that.
