Now this has come to fruition. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins have claimed Wahlstrom from the Islanders.

With the Bruins needing help at the right wing position, it is understandable that they are taking a shot on a young forward like Wahlstrom. The Portland, Maine native is a former first-round pick who will now look to take a step forward in his development with the Bruins.

In 27 games this season, Wahlstrom has two goals and four points. While he is off to a quiet start this season, he also had seven goals and 16 points in 35 games just back in 2022-23.

Wahlstrom also memorably made some incredible shootout moves for the Bruins' Mini 1-on-1 at TD Garden as a youngster.
