Bruins Should Make Big Move With Surging Forward
It is no secret that the 2024-25 season has not been all that fun for the Boston Bruins. They have struggled with consistency and are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. This is unfamiliar territory for the Bruins, as they have had plenty of regular-season success over the last several years.

While the Bruins are not having a great year, forward Morgan Geekie is hitting a new level in 2024-25. After posting just one goal and four points in his first 18 games, Geekie now sits at 15 goals and 26 points in 47 contests this season. He is only getting better as the season rolls on, too. Over his last eight games, he has six goals and eight points.
With Geekie becoming an important part of the Bruins' offense and being a pending restricted free agent, the Original Six club should seriously consider signing him to a contract extension. He is starting to form strong chemistry with David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha, so it would be wise to keep him around beyond this season.
The only two Bruins with more goals than Geekie at this stage of the season are Pastrnak and Brad Marchand. Thus, Geekie is emerging as a solid scorer for the Bruins, so it will be fascinating to see if they look to lock him up from here.
