Bruins Big Defender Claimed Off Waivers By Oilers
Alec Regula's time with the Boston Bruins organization is over, as he has been claimed off waivers by the Edmonton Oilers.
When it was announced that Regula was placed on waivers, it seemed possible that he would get claimed, as he is a young and big right-shot defenseman. Now, he is officially joining an Oilers team that needs help on the right side.
Regula appeared in 55 games last season with the Providence Bruins, where he had four goals, 22 assists, and an AHL-best plus-36 rating.
Regula never appeared in a game with Boston, but he has played in the NHL before. In 22 career NHL games, which were all played during his time with the Chicago Blackhawks, he has one goal and 16 penalty minutes.
